WHAT IS BSF ? - Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is a new, strategic
approach to capital investment in schools, heralding a major
transformation in secondary school education nationwide. Through BSF, it is envisaged that all secondary aged children
and young people will have access to 21st Century standard
facilities, with all secondary schools either renewed or replaced
within the next 15 years.
In Sunderland, our aim is that educational transformation
will be achieved through BSF... through new state of the art learning environments across
the city, and the creation of new ways of partnership working
to deliver excellence for all our children and young people.
Every Child Matters -
Sunderland's BSF programme is all about giving children and young
people across the city the best possible educational opportunities. View our new Sunderland BSF promotional video here

Sunderland is at the forefront of BSF. Together with thirteen other local authorities
up and down the country, Sunderland was part of Wave 1 of
the programme, benefiting from a substantial share of the
Government's first year of BSF funds (over £2 billion
of investment nationally, in its first year).
